A panel with a UL mark built by a listed shop is different from a panel that uses only UL-listed components. Components can be individually UL listed while the assembled panel is not - and that distinction matters to inspectors, insurance underwriters, and end users in Texas.
UL 508A vs. UL 698A: Industrial vs. Hazardous Locations

- All cable entries and conduit connections must use fittings appropriate for the classified area.
- Internal components and wiring must meet temperature class requirements for the gases present.
- Purge and pressurization systems (Type X or Type Y) must automatically de-energize the panel on purge failure if required by the classification.
